| Rotwangsrobot is an audio artist whose name comes from Fritz Lang's classic film 'Metropolis' (1927). As the inventor Rotwang inputs his ideas into the machine person in the film, Rotwangsrobot's abstract ideas become soundscapes created from experimentation with both organic and synthetically generated noise. These soundscapes allow escapism to a world where the ordinarily quiet becomes loud and attempt to tell a story without words or to isolate a feeling, due to their experimentative nature these soundscapes are wont to take on a mind of their own (which relates to the artists interest in probability and oracles), to create something which on the surface is chaotic and crazy, but has an often fragile structure. Rotwangsrobot's track CAsio flammeus was recently released on Ubuibi's 'Women Take Back the Noise' compilation. |
